A small plane crashed in Montgomery County, Maryland, killing the pilot, after witnesses reported seeing it flying erratically. The single-engine Vans RV-12 plummeted into a wooded area near Gaithersburg and Olney, Maryland. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane crashed around 1:20 p.m. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene and confirmed the pilot as the only occupant. Witnesses described the plane performing unusual maneuvers, including steep dives and climbs, before the crash. One witness stated the plane was "nose-diving" before disappearing from sight. Another witness reported hearing the plane "throttle up" and then seeing it crash. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the crash to determine the cause. The NTSB will lead the investigation, which will include examining the wreckage, pilot records, and any available air traffic control information. find the original article here: https://www.yahoo.com/news/plane-seen-flying-erratically-fatal-221924633.html
