A protest was held outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, organized by Within Our Lifetime, to denounce the museum's ties to individuals and entities supporting the Israeli government. The demonstration specifically targeted trustees and donors allegedly profiting from or enabling the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Protesters highlighted the museum’s connections to figures they accuse of complicity in the deaths of Palestinians. The demonstration aimed to pressure the Met to cut ties with these individuals and to acknowledge the human cost of the conflict. One specific case brought to light was that of Shaban al-Dalou, a 19-year-old Gazan who was killed in an Israeli Defense Forces attack. The protest sought to draw attention to his story and others like his, arguing that institutions like the Met have a moral responsibility to disassociate from those they believe are contributing to such tragedies. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/05/07/zlvr-m07.html
