Opposition to the India-Pakistan conflict is growing among Indian workers and youth amidst a fervent campaign by the ruling class to instigate war and suppress dissent. This opposition stems from a deep concern over the potential for nuclear war and the devastating consequences it would have on the region. The government's nationalist rhetoric and media propaganda are being met with skepticism and resistance, particularly among those who would bear the brunt of the conflict. Workers and young people are increasingly aware that the conflict serves the interests of the ruling elite, diverting attention from pressing domestic issues like poverty, unemployment, and inequality. They recognize that war would only exacerbate these problems and further entrench the power of the wealthy. Despite the risks of speaking out against the dominant narrative, there is a growing determination to challenge the warmongering and advocate for peace and dialogue. This resistance is fueled by a desire to build a more just and equitable society, one where resources are used for the benefit of all, rather than for military aggression. This rising opposition represents a significant challenge to the government's war agenda and holds the potential to pave the way for a more peaceful and prosperous future for the region. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/05/17/jtgi-m17.html
