Former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, who led a controversial investigation into the 2020 election, is facing potential disciplinary action from the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) filed a complaint alleging Gableman made false statements about election officials, violated confidentiality rules, and behaved disrespectfully during court proceedings related to his investigation. The OLR's complaint stems from Gableman's public comments and actions during his taxpayer-funded review of the 2020 election, commissioned by Republican lawmakers. The complaint highlights alleged misrepresentations made by Gableman about Milwaukee's election procedures and election officials, claiming he presented evidence in a misleading manner. Furthermore, the OLR alleges Gableman violated confidentiality orders by publicly disclosing closed-session information. The complaint also cites his confrontational and disrespectful behavior towards a judge during a court hearing related to the election review, including accusing the judge of bias and undermining the integrity of the proceedings. If the Supreme Court finds Gableman in violation of professional conduct rules, he could face sanctions ranging from a private reprimand to suspension or revocation of his law license. The case has been referred to a referee for further proceedings. The investigation itself was criticized for its partisan nature and lack of evidence of widespread voter fraud. find the original article here: https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-wisconsin-supreme-court-justice-223454304.html
