Twin brothers, Alex and Alan Stokes, 19, are facing misdemeanor charges for a prank they staged in October 2019 that resulted in an Uber driver being held at gunpoint by police in Irvine, California. The brothers, known for their YouTube pranks, pretended to rob a bank while wearing ski masks and carrying duffel bags filled with cash (which was never shown). They then ordered an Uber as a getaway. The Uber driver, unaware of the prank, refused to drive them. A bystander, witnessing the scene, believed a real robbery had occurred and called the police. When police arrived, they held the Uber driver at gunpoint, believing he was involved in the crime. He was later released after police determined the situation was a prank. Despite being warned by police about the dangers of their actions, the brothers continued the prank at the University of California, Irvine campus, leading to more panicked 911 calls. Originally charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor counts of reporting a false emergency, they pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of false imprisonment and one misdemeanor count of reporting a false emergency. Their sentence includes 160 hours of community service, restitution to the Uber driver, and a year of formal probation. Their filming of pranks that mimic criminal activity is also prohibited. find the original article here: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/twin-brothers-19-missed-trip-162208217.html
