Across the globe, widespread protests and strikes erupted, driven by economic hardship, political repression, and international conflicts. Greece experienced a 24-hour general strike spanning all sectors, fueled by growing discontent over austerity measures. Workers took to the streets to voice their opposition to government policies that have exacerbated economic inequalities and social hardship. Simultaneously, a wave of strikes swept through the West Bank and several countries in the Middle East and North Africa, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Tunisia, and Turkey. These strikes were largely in response to Israel's actions in Gaza, which many protestors consider genocide. The strikes aimed to express solidarity with Palestinians and condemn the ongoing violence. In Nigeria, nationwide demonstrations erupted in response to widespread poverty and perceived attacks on democratic rights. Citizens protested against the government's failure to address the economic needs of the population and its alleged suppression of dissent. These demonstrations faced a harsh response from law enforcement, with police deploying tear gas to disperse the crowds. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/04/10/hypf-a10.html
