Workers across multiple sectors and countries are engaging in strike actions to protest unsafe working conditions, inadequate wages, and deteriorating economic circumstances. In Italy, metalworkers in major cities conducted an eight-hour national walkout to demand improved workplace safety, better pay, and improved working conditions. In Lebanon, teachers staged a 24-hour strike, demanding a living wage as the country's economy continues to collapse. Simultaneously, in Nigeria, health workers and teachers initiated a strike in the capital Abuja and surrounding areas, protesting for a minimum wage that reflects the rising cost of living. These strikes highlight a growing trend of labor unrest fueled by economic hardship, unsafe work environments, and unmet demands for fair compensation. The coordinated actions suggest a rising awareness and willingness among workers globally to challenge existing systems and advocate for their rights and livelihoods. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/04/03/xvgj-a03.html
