The Humboldt University student parliament in Berlin passed a motion proposed by the International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE) condemning the deportations of political activists both in Germany and internationally. The motion specifically focused on the increasing trend of deporting individuals involved in political activism and dissent. The IYSSE argued that these deportations represent a suppression of free speech and political expression, undermining democratic principles. The motion highlights concerns about the German government's actions and their alignment with a broader global pattern of silencing opposition voices through deportation. It calls for an end to the practice and defends the right to political activity and asylum for those facing persecution. The resolution seeks to raise awareness within the university community and beyond about the threat to democratic rights posed by these deportations. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/05/16/1483-m16.html
