The *World Socialist Web Site* article argues that the Australian Labor government, led by Anthony Albanese, is not a force for progressive change, but rather a vehicle for austerity and militarism. It criticizes various pseudo-left organizations for promoting the idea that the Labor government can be pressured into implementing reforms. The article asserts that Labor's true agenda involves significant spending cuts and increased military spending as Australia prepares for a potential war with China, aligning itself with US imperialism. It contends that Labor's actions will ultimately serve the interests of big business and the military-industrial complex, not the working class. The piece accuses the pseudo-left groups of deliberately misleading workers by suggesting that the Labor government can be swayed through activism and pressure. Instead, it argues that these groups are functioning to politically disarm the working class in the face of the emerging attacks on their living conditions. The article concludes by urging workers to reject the illusion of Labor as a progressive force and to instead embrace a socialist perspective and fight for an international socialist revolution. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/05/10/hviz-m10.html
