Workers around the world are engaging in various forms of labor action to fight for improved wages, benefits, and working conditions. In Nepal, teachers are protesting for increased pay and better resources, reflecting broader economic struggles and the inadequacy of existing compensation. Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, garment workers are demonstrating against the non-payment of a promised New Year bonus, highlighting the precarious nature of employment within the global supply chain and the exploitation of vulnerable workers. In South Australia, shipyard workers are staging rolling stoppages to pressure employers regarding ongoing labor disputes, indicating persistent tensions in the manufacturing sector. Finally, mental health workers in Victoria, Australia, have implemented bans and other forms of industrial action to demand higher pay, reflecting the growing recognition of the importance of mental healthcare and the need to fairly compensate those providing it. These actions, spanning different continents and industries, collectively underscore the global nature of labor unrest and the widespread desire for economic justice and improved worker welfare. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/04/12/zqky-a12.html
