A pilot program at the Cumbernauld Royal Mail delivery office is causing discontent among postal workers. Implemented without prior consultation with the workforce, the program focuses on altered duty patterns. While workers voted on and approved a new Saturday off schedule (2 in 5 Saturdays), this slight improvement in work-life balance is overshadowed by concerns regarding longer weekday hours and increased workloads. The worker quoted in the WSWS article suggests the negotiated benefit doesn't compensate for the added pressure. This suggests underlying issues with workload management and lack of employee input. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/03/10/qhpo-m10.html
