Ukrainian photojournalist and documentary maker Maks Levin was found dead near the village of Huta-Mezhyhirska, outside Kyiv, after disappearing on March 13th. Levin, working with a cameraman, was documenting the Russian invasion. His body was discovered on April 1st, though Ukrainian authorities didn't release the information until April 2nd, citing ongoing investigations. Early reports suggested Levin was killed by Russian forces. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office stated that preliminary information indicated Levin was fatally shot by Russian soldiers with small arms fire. Levin, a father of four, had been contributing to various news outlets, including Reuters, BBC, and Associated Press. He was known for his extensive coverage of the war in Ukraine, especially since Russia's initial invasion in 2014. His loss highlights the dangers faced by journalists covering the conflict.
