Joseph Kishore's May Day 2025 speech emphasizes the escalating global class struggle and the growing radicalization of the working class. He argues that capitalism is in a state of crisis, marked by increasing inequality, war, and authoritarianism. Kishore points to the ongoing wars, particularly the conflict in Ukraine, as evidence of imperialism's inherent drive towards violence and its willingness to risk nuclear war. He contends that the traditional political institutions and parties, including the trade unions, are incapable of addressing the fundamental problems facing workers. These organizations, he asserts, are integrated into the capitalist system and actively suppress working-class struggles. Instead, Kishore calls for the construction of a new, independent political movement of the working class based on a socialist program. The speech highlights the need for international unity among workers across national boundaries, emphasizing that the problems they face are global in nature and require a unified response. He advocates for the building of sections of the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI) in every country to advance the socialist revolution. Kishore concludes by asserting that the future belongs to the working class and that the fight for socialism is the only path to a just and peaceful world. The May Day celebration is presented as a call to action to organize and prepare for the inevitable revolutionary struggles ahead. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/05/06/xbku-m06.html
