The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) is intervening in the upcoming elections with a specific goal: to educate and mobilize the working class as an independent political force. They are explicitly positioning themselves against all capitalist parties and their associated political figures. The SEP's campaign is rooted in a socialist and internationalist program. They argue that the existing political system, dominated by capitalist interests, fails to address the fundamental needs and concerns of the working class. The SEP contends that workers must develop their own independent political consciousness and organization to effectively fight for their rights and interests. Their electoral efforts are therefore aimed at fostering this independence and promoting a socialist alternative to the status quo. The party aims to provide a clear contrast to the other political options, all of whom they believe are beholden to capitalist agendas. By contesting the elections, the SEP seeks to amplify its message and build a base of support among workers who are disillusioned with mainstream politics and are seeking a genuine socialist alternative. find the original article here: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/04/04/sqik-a04.html
