The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a winter 2024-2025 with above-normal temperatures for much of the United States. While the West will experience mild temperatures, the eastern two-thirds of the country can expect relatively warm conditions. However, this doesn't mean a complete absence of cold; the Almanac anticipates several significant bouts of cold and snowy weather, particularly in the Northeast. For precipitation, the Almanac forecasts above-average snowfall for the Great Lakes and Northeast. Other areas, like the western U.S., are predicted to have near-normal precipitation. The South might see relatively mild winter conditions overall. The Almanac bases its predictions on a secret formula developed by its founder in 1792, involving solar science, climatology, and meteorology. While some dismiss its accuracy, the publication maintains it's been providing long-range weather forecasts for over 230 years. It acknowledges challenges in predicting specific day-to-day weather but emphasizes its general trends for the season. find the original article here: https://www.yahoo.com/news/old-farmer-almanac-just-predicted-120000915.html
