Surgical Cover-Up: Amputation After Botched Knee Surgery

A New York man, Steven Hromada, underwent knee surgery in January 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, now known as Catholic Health St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. The surgery was intended to alleviate knee pain, but Hromada alleges that medical malpractice during the procedure led to severe complications. Following the surgery, Hromada experienced intense pain and discoloration in his leg. Despite his complaints, he claims the medical staff dismissed his concerns and did not adequately address the deteriorating condition of his leg. Ultimately, the complications worsened, and Hromada's leg had to be amputated above the knee. Hromada has filed a lawsuit against the hospital and the surgeon, Dr. Kevin Moore, alleging negligence and medical malpractice. The lawsuit claims that the defendants failed to properly monitor and treat his leg after the surgery, leading to the amputation. He is seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages resulting from the incident.
